Demiurge : The World-Maker in the Platonic Tradition

안녕하십니까? 서울대학교 인문학연구원 HK 문명사업단과 철학사상연구소는 <데미우르고스: 플라톤주의 전통에서 바라본 우주제작자>라는 주제로 아래와 같이 국제 심포지엄을 공동 개최합니다.

플라톤은 『티마이오스』에서 이데아의 세계를 본떠서 우주를 제작하는 신적인 장인 (匠人) ‘데미우르고스’를 등장시켰습니다. ‘데미우르고스’는 이후 우주의 형이상학적 원리로 해석되는가 하면, 영지주의의 악하고 어리석은 조물주로 변형되기도 하고, 유대교, 기독교, 이슬람교의 창조주와 비교되기도 했습니다. 본 행사는 플라톤주의 전통에서 ‘우주 제작자’를 둘러싼 논의를 주요 사조와 작가들을 중심으로 다루고자 합니다. 플라톤주의의 ‘우주제작자’에 대한 논의는 논리와 신화, 문학과 철학, 신학과 종교, 세계 이해와 자기 구원 사이의 긴장 및 의존 관계에 대한 이해를 심화하는데 기여할 것으로 기대됩니다. 이 행사에 여러분들을 정중히 초대합니다.
